The 2022 college football season will begin on Saturday, Aug. 27, and the first FBS vs. FBS game of the years is a Big Ten matchup between Nebraska and Northwestern in Dublin, Ireland. Kickoff for that game is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. ET, and the latest Week 0 college football odds from Caesars Sportsbook list the Cornhuskers as 13-point favorites over the Wildcats. However, that’s just one of seven FBS vs. FBS matchups on the Week 0 college football schedule, which will conclude with Vanderbilt at Hawaii in a 10:30 p.m. ET kickoff on CBS Sports Network.
The Commodores are 8-point road favorites over the Rainbow Warriors in the latest Week 0 college football lines. North Texas and UTEP will begin their seasons on Aug. 27 with an in-state rivalry matchup that will feature the tightest college football spread of the week, with the line listed as a pick’em. Before finalizing any college football picks for Week 0 of the 2022 season, be sure to see the latest college football predictions from SportsLine’s proven model.
The SportsLine Projection Model simulates every FBS college football game 10,000 times. Over the past six years, the proprietary computer model has generated a stunning profit of almost $3,600 for $100 players on its top-rated college football picks against the spread. It also finished the 2021-22 college football season on a 43-31 run on all top-rated college football side picks. Anyone who has followed it has seen huge returns.
Now, it has turned its attention to the latest college football odds for Saturday from Caesars and locked in picks for every FBS matchup. Head here to see every pick.
One of the top college football picks the model is recommending for Saturday: Wyoming (+10) stays within the spread against Illinois in a 4 p.m. ET kickoff on Saturday in Champaign. After Lovie Smith failed to produce a winning season in five years, former Wisconsin and Arkansas head coach Bret Bielema took over the program last season and guided the program to victories in four of the last seven games to finish with a 5-7 record.
However, Illinois ranks 103rd out of 131 FBS teams with only 54% of its production from last season returning. Meanwhile, Wyoming has been .500 or better in five of its last six seasons and a fresh start at quarterback will be welcomed after QB play seemed to trip Wyoming up during a 7-6 season where the program had aspirations of winning the Mountain West.
Titus Swen will be back for the Cowboys and he’ll likely be the focal point of the offense after rushing for 785 yards and seven touchdowns as the backup to Xazavian Valladay. The model predicts that Swen helps Wyoming run for well over 170 yards to help the Cowboys stay within the number in nearly 60% of simulations. See which other teams the model likes here.
The model has also made the call on who wins and covers in every other FBS matchup on Saturday, and it’s calling for a big favorite to get a huge scare. You can only get every pick for every game at SportsLine.
