A long-delayed bill to make tech companies negotiate with local news organizations to share revenue is back on track for a vote on the Senate floor.
The legislation (S. 673, sponsored by Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.), would empower small news outlets to negotiate compensation from tech titans such as Facebook and Google.
The Senate Judiciary Committee on Thursday advanced the bill 15-7, after postponing a vote several times over Republican concerns.
