Webby Awards 2022: List of Winners is Here – TheTealMango
The list of winners of the Webby Awards 2022 has been announced and we can’t keep calm. Read the article further to figure out if your favorite artist won the award or not.
This is the 26th edition of the Webby Awards. An official in-person ceremony will also be presented by Verizon. The Webby Awards 2022 will take place at the Cipriani Wall Street in New York City on May 16. Roy Wood Jr. will host the award show.
Drew Barrymore bagged the Webby Special Achievement Award, Adam Scott won the Best Actor Award for his performance in the Apple TV+ series Severance, and Megan Thee Stallion secured the award for Webby Artist of the Year.
This year, the lifetime achievement award went to NFT inventors Anil Dash and Kevin McCoy, who developed a blockchain-powered way for artists to own and monetize their digital work. Isn’t that great?
Contemporary Artist Takashi Murakami was bestowed with the Webby Special Achievement for his career creating experimental art, and, more recently, entering the NFT space. The Award for Webby social movement was won by the organizers of Florida’s ‘Say Gay’ Movement. This particular movement revolves around the protection of transgender youth against discriminatory bills and legislation.
Other winners of Webby Awards 2022 include Ted Lasso, The Queen of Basketball, Sesame Street, and The Dropout podcast; as well as Billie Eilish, Questlove, Trevor Noah, Rihanna’s Savage x Fenty, Gordan Ramsay, Tony Hawk, Laverne Cox, Conan O’Brien, Lilly Singh, Jimmy Fallon, Tig Notaro, Olivia Rodrigo, Jimmy Kimmel, Jon Stewart, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Peyton Manning, Roxanne Gay, Kyrie Irving, and Andy Slavitt.
