Bright idea: the sun shines on ClearVue’s solar window solution
“The upscaling of the product, and now certification of the same, is a similarly important achievement for the company. This new certification takes the UL certification and extends it to be applied to large format glazing panels used in high and medium rise construction opening the door to these types of sales in our key sales territory of the US,” says chairman.
ClearVue Technologies Ltd (ASX:CPV, OTCQB:CVUEF) has now received UL certification (UL 61730) for its triple-glazed IGU panels up to 3.6 square metres. This means the UL mark can now be applied to all ClearVue products including large format IGU panels.
The certification for the smart building materials company now extends the existing UL certification to apply to large format glazing panels for high- and medium-rise construction opportunities in the US.
Panels tested for certification were 2.4 metres high x 1.5 metres wide, but different configurations are possible including 3 metres high x 1.2 metres wide.
Essentially, the new UL testing builds upon earlier testing to increase the size envelope of the ClearVue PV IGU to a maximum tested area of 3.6 square metres and all sizes below that.
To this point, panel testing was constrained based on the size of available testing equipment. However, following receipt from UL of a ‘Notice of Completion and Authorisation to Apply the UL Mark’, ClearVue and its licensees may now apply the UL Mark to new ClearVue IGU products made at nominated factory locations and to products made in accordance with the approved specifications for the ClearVue IGU product of any size up to 3.6 square metres.
“As announced on November 28, 2019, the UL Certification of the ClearVue product was a major achievement for the company and one of the most significant steps forward in our commercialisation path for the company at the time – clearing the way for early product sales into the USA and other international markets,” CPV executive chairman Victor Rosenberg said.
“The upscaling of the product, and now certification of the same, is a similarly important achievement for the company. This new certification takes the UL certification and extends it to be applied to large format glazing panels used in high and medium rise construction opening the door to these types of sales in our key sales territory of the US, but also other territories where the UL certification and UL Mark are used.
“As previously noted, the UL certification and our ability to apply the UL Mark to the ClearVue IGU products provide peace of mind to architects, façade engineers, developers and building owners when specifying the ClearVue products into major building projects.”
