How to make a Community post on YouTube if eligible – Business Insider
YouTube provides creators with a video-centric way to access their followers, but it’s also started giving some of those creators the ability to reach out in a more direct way through Community posts.
Community posts allow users to interact with their viewers through media like polls, GIFs, text, images, and video in the Community tab on YouTube.
However, before you get started it’s important to know that only those with at least 1,000 subscribers have access to the Community tab and will be able to create Community posts on YouTube, though the company does say that it’s still testing the feature, so in the future others may also have access.
With that in mind, here’s how to create a Community post on YouTube, using either your computer or mobile device.
1. Go to YouTube and sign into your account on your Mac or PC, if necessary.
2. Click the “Upload” button, the video camera icon, at the top-right side of the screen and select “Create post.”
3. Type or paste your message into the text box and add an image, GIF, or video, if desired.
4. Choose the kind of post you want to create — video, poll, image, or post.
5. Select “Post.”
You will now be able to see your Community posts under the “Community” tab of your channel page.
The process for creating a Community post is the same whether you have an iPhone or an Android:
1. Open the YouTube app on your iPhone or Android.
2. Tap “Create” — the icon looks like a video camera icon.
3. Select “Post.”
4. Add your post to the textbox, and upload any other media you want to include.
5. Select the kind of post that you want to create.
6. Tap “Post.”
