NEWS: Five-star point guard Elliot Cadeau sets decision date – 247Sports

Five-star point guard Elliot Cadeau will announce his college decision Wednesday, Dec. 28 at 7pm Eastern. The announcement will be made live with 247Sports during halftime of Roselle Catholic vs. Gonzaga at this year’s Made Hoops Jordan Holiday Classic.
The 6-foot-1 point guard from West Orange, N.J. who attends Link Academy (Mo.) has narrowed down his list to six at the end of October. He will make his decision between Kansas, Louisville, North Carolina, Syracuse, Texas and Texas Tech.
Coming into his decision, Cadeau has taken official visits to UNC, Texas Tech and Louisville. There is no current leader to land the talented five-star.
In 247Sports’ last interview with Cadeau, ranked the No. 1 point guard and No. 8 overall prospect in the 2024 class, broke down his top six schools.
Kansas: “They’re a winning program who won a National Championship last year and that’s one of my goals in high school. I want to win a national championship in college as well and I believe Kansas can give me a platform to do that.”
Louisville: “I really like Coach Kenny (Payne). He showed me that I’m one of his top recruits and that they really want and need me. I love Coach Kenny, he’s one of the best coaches I’ve ever spoken to. I don’t know a lot about their play style right now but I know Coach Payne lets his guards play and do what they do ever since he was at Kentucky.”
Syracuse: “Syracuse is a really good school and I like their coach a lot. I talk to one of the assistants the most. We have a strong relationship and they’re one of the first high major schools to recruit me, which is big.”
Texas: “I was a big fan of Coach Beard when he was at Texas Tech and now he’s at Texas. When I was younger I had a high interest in Texas. They’ve been talking with me a lot recently over the past couple of weeks and the interest is mutual. I really like their school.”
Texas Tech: “I’ve been a fan of Texas Tech for a long time and it was like a dream come true going on my visit. Everybody over there is really humble and I really liked that feeling when I went down there.”
UNC: “Coach Hubert Davis has been in contact with me for almost a year now. I like how it’s the head coach talking to me every week. It really shows me that I’m a priority for them. Also they’re a winning program and I like winning a lot. I know if I were to go there I’ll have elite players around me that would help us win.”
