NYC man charged with criminal attempt at enticing a Greenwich … – Greenwich Time

Greenwich Police charged a man with attempting to meet what he thought was a 14-year-old he had contacted by computer.
GREENWICH — Police arrested a 31-year-old New York City man on charges of seeking to engage in sexual activity with a minor — who was actually an undercover detective, police said this week.
The police department’s Special Victims Section was posting in an online internet chat application, assuming the identity of a 14-year-old girl from Greenwich, police said. Police said John Richard Constant, of East 72nd St., Manhattan, entered into a dialogue and “began to steer the conversations toward becoming more sexual in nature.”
A meet-up in Greenwich was arranged. When Constant came to Greenwich on Monday for the meeting, according to police, he was arrested and charged with attempted risk of injury to a minor, criminal attempt at sexual assault and criminal attempt to entice a minor by computer, all felonies.
He was released after posting a $100,000 bond.
