Japan's latest decarbonization technologies on display at COP27 venue – NHK WORLD

Japan's latest decarbonization technologies are on display at the COP27 climate change conference underway in Egypt.
Participating countries and international organizations are showcasing their environmental efforts at onsite pavilions.
At the Japan pavilion, 10 domestic firms and groups are holding exhibitions and 20 entities are hosting virtual exhibitions online.
One Tokyo-based firm is displaying a film that suppresses heat from sunlight and radiates it into the air.
Company officials say when the film is applied to shipping containers carried by trucks, it can keep the air temperatures inside them 11 degrees cooler.
They say they are also considering using the material for tents and parasols.
Japan's Environment Ministry says it hopes the pavilion sends the message that the public and private sectors can work together to help create a carbon-free world and mitigate climate change.
